Predrag Lukic

Predrag Lukic (born February 5, 1986 in Werdohl ) is a German - Serbian basketball coach .

Life

Lukic, who as a player was a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian first division club KK Leotar Trebinje before a knee injury caused his career to end, was initially a coach in the youth area of ​​Baskets Lüdenscheid (also with the second men's team) and TSV Hagen. In the 2008/09 season he also worked as an assistant coach at the regional league team BG Hagen. From summer 2009 he worked as an assistant coach for the GiroLive-Ballers Osnabrück ( 2nd Bundesliga ProA ).

In the run-up to the 2010/11 season, he took over the position of head coach of the women's second division club TSV Quakenbrück . Lukic led the QTSV in the 2010/11 game year to third place in the final table of the 2nd League North. He stayed in office until November 2011 and in the same month switched to the women's first division ChemCats Chemnitz as head coach . He led the Saxons until the end of the 2011/12 season and was hired as head coach at NB Oberhausen (also DBBL ) in spring 2012 . At the end of November 2012, Lukic and Oberhausen split after they had slipped to the bottom of the table.

In November 2013 Lukic took up a position in the men's division again and became the head coach of the Dukes Wolfenbüttel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . The collaboration ended in February 2014. In the 2014/15 season Lukic worked as head coach at the regional league club Bürgerfelder TB, but missed relegation with the team that had previously been promoted and entered the new division as an outsider.

From 2015 Lukic worked in China as head coach and sports director of a basketball academy in Foshan . In 2017/18 he worked as an assistant coach for the Chinese team Chongson KungFu, with whom he participated in the cross-border ASEAN league and reached the semi-finals of the competition. In June 2018, Lukic moved as head coach to the reigning champions of Vietnam , the Thang Long Warriors, with whom he reached the semi-finals of the Vietnamese league VBA. At the end of November 2018, he moved to the Hochiminh City Wings within Vietnam, where he became head coach. He was named Trainer of the Year 2019 in the VBA. With the team, he reached the VBA semi-finals in 2019. In January 2020, Lukic's return to the Thang Long Warriors was announced.
