Priit Kruus

Priit Kruus (born December 3, 1981 in Tallinn ; † November 25, 2018 there ) was an Estonian literary scholar and writer .

life and work

Priit Kruus graduated from high school in Saue in 2000 and then studied Estonian philology with a focus on literature at the University of Tartu . After his master's (2007) he moved to the Tallinn University , where he in June 2018 with a thesis on Estonian avant-garde to Dr. phil. received his doctorate. Since 2014 he has been a lecturer in literature at Tallinn University.

Kruus was editor of the literary magazine Vihik and wrote literary textbooks for elementary schools. His research focus was on contemporary Estonian literature and recent developments since the Singing Revolution in Estonia. In particular, he devoted himself to postmodern and literary groups.

His own literary debut in the volume copy was praised as "easy to read, dynamic and engaging" youth narrative.
