Company history

The brewery was founded in 1845 by the royal Prussian bailiff KH Lappmann on the "Hohenfelde" estate. Lappmann hired a Franconian master brewer, Johann Dittmann. A black beer and a brown beer were produced . A short time later, Dittmann became a competitor with the Dittmann brewery, which also produced in Langenberg
