The Private Hochschule Wirtschaft PHW Bern AG is the first private business school in the Swiss Central Plateau where courses can be completed with federally recognized technical college diplomas.
The university is part of the federally recognized Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences . With around 1,300 students, it is one of the largest business schools in Switzerland.
history
From the mid-1990s - and the entry into force of the University of Applied Sciences Act - the landscape of advanced vocational training was fundamentally changed in Switzerland. In addition to the individual existing higher technical schools HF , the newly organized technical colleges FH were added . The Swiss university of applied sciences today comprises seven public and one private universities of applied sciences. The Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences has been the only private university of applied sciences since 2018. The PHW Bern is part of the Kalaidos Group.
The management of the Feusi training center decided in 1997 to also enter higher vocational training, which laid the foundation stone for the PHW Bern.
Education
The bachelor's degree begins with the basic study, which lasts three semesters and includes compulsory modules. The main course, which contains elective modules, begins in the 4th semester. In the 7th semester, the specialization course begins, which offers specializations in business psychology, international management, SME corporate management and eco economics.
In addition to the above-mentioned Bachelor courses, the PHW also offers Executive MBA in General Management, Business Engineering, Medical Management and Management & Leadership. In addition, various Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) , Certified of Advanced Studies (CAS), Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) .

The PHW achieved 5th place in the European wage ranking in European MBA programs.
