The 2012/13 Professionalnaja Basketbolnaja League season was the league's third regular season and the 22nd Russian basketball championship. 10 teams took part in the 2012/13 championship. The season started on October 3, 2012 and ended on May 12, 2013.
Association with the VTB
Due to the agreements that were made between the ULEB and the VTB , the importance of the PBL has decreased significantly. The Russian participants in the ULEB Euroleague were no longer determined in the PBL, but in the VTB. The ratings for the Russian championship were also determined in both the PBL games and the VTB games.
Game mode
Each of the ten participating teams played a double round each against each other. The games of the Russian teams who have to play against each other in the VTB also counted for the PBL. These pairings were not played again in the PBL.
