The term prostate massage describes the targeted stimulation of the prostate as a diagnostic action for the targeted extraction of prostate secretion , as a manual method for collecting sperm from father animals or as a sexual practice for sexual stimulation. Other terms are prostate stimulation , prostate drainage or Greek massage .

The stimulation of the prostate, also known as the prostate gland, is widespread in several contexts and variants: Direct stimulation takes place by inserting a finger or an object suitable for stimulation into the rectum ; indirect by the massage of the dam , also called the perineum, the area between the scrotum and anus .

Use in medicine

Prostate stimulation is used in medicine when chronic prostatitis is suspected , i.e. prostate inflammation, in order to be able to detect the bacteria in the prostate secretion by means of a bacterial culture ; in acute inflammation, massage is contraindicated because of the risk of bacteremia .

Use in sperm collection

To obtain semen from large male zoo animals, especially from elephant bulls, the prostate is massaged rectally until ejaculation occurs . The ejaculate obtained in this way is either used on site for artificial insemination of the cows or sold as frozen semen to other zoological gardens for breeding there.

Use as a sexual practice

The prostate is considered a male G-spot . Many men find it sexually stimulating when the prostate is additionally stimulated. With intense stimulation, an orgasm can be triggered without stimulating the penis itself. Depending on the duration and intensity, a small to large amount of prostate secretion, which is also part of the sperm, can be excreted slowly flowing through the penis. As part of a tantra massage, a prostate massage (possibly with simultaneous stimulation of the penis) can be arranged, which triggers a perceived orgasm experience and subsequent deep relaxation.

So-called prostate milking is used as part of various BDSM practices . Among other things, erotic electrical stimulation is used here. One goal can be to gain the secretion and semen of the bottom without stimulating the penis , so that he does not experience a perceived orgasm, and thus to subject him to what is known as chastity in the jargon of BDSM .
