Perlez ( German : Perlas ) is a village community in the administrative district of Zrenjanin (Großbetschkerek) in the Okrug Srednji Banat in northern Serbia .
geography
The village is located in the autonomous province of Vojvodina in the Banat on the Bega River near the Tisza , not far from the confluence with the Danube .
history
After the First World War , Austria-Hungary had to cede this region to Serbia. In 1925 Perlez was connected to the railway via tracks with Novi Sad and via Orlovat with Zrenjanin and Pančevo . In 1926 Perlez got electricity from Title.
During the Second World War , the village was taken on October 4, 1944 by the Tito partisans and the Red Army . As of 2011, the village has a Serb majority among its 3,342 inhabitants.
Infrastructure
The primary school " Jakura Jakšić " is located in the village . It has a Serbian Orthodox Church with the Patronage of the Dormition and a Roman Catholic Church. The village has its own fire department.
