Protógenes José air
Protógenes José Luft SdC (born May 6, 1949 in Palmeira das Missões , Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Barra do Garças .
Life
Protógenes José Luft joined the religious order of the Servants of Charity and was ordained a priest on December 7, 1975 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Barra do Garças on January 26, 2000 . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre , Altamiro Rossato CSsR , donated him episcopal ordination on March 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Antônio Sarto SDB , Bishop of Barra do Garças, and José Ivo Lorscheiter , Bishop of Santa Maria . As a motto he chose propter caritatem .
With the resignation of Antônio Sartos SDB on May 23, 2001, he succeeded him as Bishop of Barra do Garças.
