Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa is a species of plant in the genus Pseudorhipsalis from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa grows shrubby and richly branched from the base. The flattened main shoots are round at the often hairy base, up to 70 centimeters long and 2 to 5 millimeters wide. The side shoots appear in 4 or 5 rows from the rotating sections of the main shoots. They are round at the base, flattened above and often branched out further. The side shoots are lanceolate to linear, first reddish and later green, or uniformly green. They become 10 to 25 inches long and up to 2 inches wide.

The mostly single, slightly pendulous, wheel-shaped flowers are more or less pink or greenish cream. They are 7 to 12 millimeters long and reach a diameter of 10 to 14 millimeters. The egg-shaped, white to slightly pinkish-white fruits are translucent and are 4 to 8 millimeters long.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Pseudorhipsalis ramulosa is widespread in Mexico , Guatemala , Belize , Haiti , Jamaica , El Salvador , Honduras , Nicaragua , Costa Rica , Venezuela , Colombia , Ecuador , Peru , Brazil, and Bolivia . The first description as Cereus ramulosus was published in 1834 by Joseph zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck . Wilhelm Barthlott placed the species in 1991 in the genus Pseudorhipsalis .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
