Psychiatry: An Industry of Death is a permanent exhibition critical of psychiatry on 6616 Sunset Boulevard , Los Angeles , which the sponsoring organization has declared as a "museum".

The organization is supported by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), which in turn was founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and the psychiatrist Thomas Szasz . Organizationally, the CCHR is closely linked with the international Scientology organization. It is therefore also referred to by its critics as a "cover organization" of Scientology. Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986) always hoped that he could replace psychiatry with his Dianetics, which he introduced in 1950 .
