The psychological thriller GmbH is a German publisher for E-Books based in Mühltal in Darmstadt . Initially, audio books and radio plays were produced between 2009 and 2012 .

History and program

In 2009 the radio play author and producer Ivar Leon Menger founded his own audio book publisher, which specializes in the production of audio books in the areas of crime , thrillers and suspense . The reason was the publication of their own thriller series Darkside Park as an audio book, which Menger conceived and written as an 18-part series together with the authors Hendrik Buchna , Christoph Zachariae , John Beckmann , Simon X. Rost and Raimon Weber . The Lauscherlounge had previously produced the first three episodes, but stopped further production after a year because sales of 300 CD boxes were too low. Menger then bought back the rights to the series and decided to finish producing them at his own expense in his own publishing house.

Another audio book series followed with Terminal 3 and a radio play production with Böses Ende . However, as the booksellers' interest in the productions of Psychothriller GmbH was too low, the decision was made in 2010 to concentrate solely on download sales.

In October 2011, the product range was expanded with the publication of e-books. In October 2012, Patrick Roche's audio book Die Scar was published, the last audio book production. Due to the high production costs and the insufficient revenues from download sales, audio book production had to be stopped. Since then, Psychothriller GmbH has been a publisher for e-books and print editions.

E-books

In addition to the script book publications of the audio productions Plan B , which appeared as a radio play at the Lauscherlounge , and the audio book series Darkside Park , novels by various authors (including by Raimon Weber ) are published as e-books.

With the series Von Lichtwiese nach Dunkelstadt (as a radio play under the title Dodo ), a material from the field of fantasy / fairy tales was brought out for the first time. The series was originally conceived as a radio play, but had to be discontinued for the time being due to differences of opinion between the director Jan-David Rönfeldt and the Lauscherlounge label . Four episodes were published up to 2009. In order for the series to come to an end, the author Ivar Leon Menger and John Beckmann decided to continue the plot in the form of an e-book novel. The series comprises a total of seven volumes or an anthology.

In 2012 the start of the mystery thriller series The mysterious cases of Mr. Ondragon by Anette Strohmeyer took place with human hunger . With Porterville , a spin-off from Darkside Park was published in 2013 as an 18-part series. In December 2013, the first six episodes were published as an audio book on the labelhabenreich ( Universal Music ). Also, Terminal 3 will continue as e-book series. Also has Lübbe published the first volumes in paperback in January, 2014.

Since autumn 2013, novels by US writers Shirley Jackson (complete works), Ira Levin (complete works) and James Kahn ( The Goonies ) have been published as German-language e-book editions.
