History and program

The original Lauscherlounge GmbH was founded in 2003 by dubbing and radio play speaker Oliver Rohrbeck , businessman Kai Schenker and radio maker Grischa Sedelke with the idea of performing audio events live and in front of an audience. The start was a Halloween reading in the Berlin Sage Club , in which Oliver Rohrbeck and Detlef Bierstedt appeared as speakers.

The current Lauscherlounge GmbH was founded on February 23, 2015. The object of the company is the provision of services in the publishing, event and games sector, as well as the acquisition and sale of rights and licenses for media and media content, in particular for films, books and audio books (managing directors: Oliver Rohrbeck and Kai Schenker).

On July 26, 2012, the Lauscherlounge Veranstaltungen UG (limited liability) was also founded. The object of the company is the conception, planning, organization and implementation of cultural events for its own account and for third parties, including the marketing and distribution of recordings and programs, especially in the area of readings, record release parties and live radio plays (Managing Director: Oliver Rohrbeck and Kai Schenker).

Live events

Live radio plays and staged readings have been performed in front of an audience on a regular basis since 2004 . The fixed monthly venue is the old canteen of the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district , but the productions have also been performed nationwide since 2009. Well-known voice actors act as protagonists , who, depending on the type of performance, are accompanied by musical arrangements by the composers Dirk Wilhelm and Henrik Albrecht as well as by noise maker Jörg Klinkenberg. In addition to recurring events such as the Prima Vista reading with David Nathan and Simon Jäger , alternating with Oliver Rohrbeck and Detlef Bierstedt, Lauscherlounge Live also stages readings and live radio plays on various topics. Due to the growing public interest, the venue for the Prima Vista readings was moved to the Berlin club SO36 in 2012 .

Since the end of the legal dispute over the radio play series Die Drei ??? organized Lauscherlounge Live also known as Record Release Parties (RRPs) for all new episodes of the radio drama series in which the audience the new episode can listen together with Oliver Rohrbeck usually a week before publication.

The well-known series include the detective series Peter Lundt and Richard Diamond as well as the series handpicked and stories by well-known authors with Jens Wawrczeck presented by Andreas Fröhlich .

For the Richard Diamond series, which was discontinued in 2008, two new episodes could be produced with the help of crowdfunding . The aim was to cover part of the production costs with at least 5,000 euros and in this way create the opportunity to continue the series of radio plays with cases 13 and 14. Within 61 days, supporters of the project raised a sum of 6,425 euros.
