The Pueblo Chico was a model system operated from 1999 to 2015 in Valle de La Orotava on Tenerife .

Santa Cruz Harbor

The Pueblo Chico (German: small village) showed 1:25 scale models of the Canary Islands on an area of 20,000 m². Historical buildings and ensembles of buildings, modern architecture, landscapes and depictions of life on Tenerife and the neighboring islands were on display.

The life of the indigenous people ( Guanches ) was reproduced in detailed scenes as well as the various forms of today's agriculture in the archipelago. In addition to individual historical buildings from various cities in Tenerife, a separate department was dedicated to the world cultural heritage of La Laguna . The island's capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, was represented on the layout with buildings in the old town, modern architecture by Santiago Calatrava and the port. The animated models included ships in the port of Santa Cruz and aircraft on the runway of Tenerife South Airport . The neighboring islands were represented with individual buildings: Count's Tower in San Sebastián de La Gomera , Theater Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , City Hall of Santa Cruz de La Palma , Ball Bridge and Fortress San Gabriel on Lanzarote , Officer's House in La Oliva on Fuerteventura and the Orchilla lighthouse on El Hierro .

In addition to the models, the garden with numerous plants from the Canary Islands was an attraction of the facility.

The facility was closed at the end of 2015.
