Pukintika ( Aymara puki white earth, tika adobe ,) also Puguintica , Puquintica , Poquentica or Puquentica ) is a volcanic peak in the South American Andes with an altitude of about 5750 m, in the Cordillera Occidental on the border between Bolivia and Chile . The volcano is located in the Arica and Parinacota region in northeastern Chile, and the Oruro department in western Bolivia (in the Julo canton in the Sabaya municipality in the Sabaya province .
The Pukintika is north of the Salar de Surire , and east of the Arintica , a volcano that is younger than the Pukintika. In the summit region of the Pukintika there is a crater lake with an area of about 2500 m².
