Punta Araos is a headland at the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms 2.5 km southwest of Duthiers Point, the northern branch of Waterboat Point in the Aguirre Passage between the mainland coast and the offshore Lemaire Island .
Scientists of the 5th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1950–1951) carried out their measurements and the naming. It is named after Roberto Araos Tapia, first manager of the neighboring González Videla Antarctic station .
