The Purka (Norwegian for Sauberg , also known as Mount Corry ) is a striking mountain ridge with two witness mountains in the East Antarctic Kempland . It rises 8 km southeast of Gjeitafjell in Hansenfjella . The Galtefjellet is the more southerly of the two witnesses mountains.

Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped the survey using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The name given by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) on July 29, 1965 is named after the Australian geodesist and glaciologist Maxwell John Corry (* 1940), who worked at Mawson Station in 1965 and was involved in surveying the Amery Ice Shelf in 1968 .
