Push and Shove is the sixth studio album by the US band No Doubt . It was released on September 21, 2012 by Interscope Records . It is the band's comeback studio album after almost eleven years.

history

The band had been on hiatus for years since a greatest hits album in 2003. Gwen Stefani had followed her solo career during which she released two albums. While Stefani toured for The Sweet Escape in 2006 , the rest of the band began to write songs for a new No Doubt album. Since Stefani then had her second child, the development process was further delayed. In 2010 it was reported that the band began recording tracks in Hollywood . The album was recorded with Mark "Spike" Stent, who worked for the band at Rock Steady . Only the eleven pieces of the album were created as original compositions, a remix of Settle Down by Jonas Quant was chosen as the Japan bonus track . The deluxe bonus CD includes additional (acoustic) versions and a cover of Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants .

reception

The website Focus .de awarded 4 out of 10 points. Lea Herrmann wrote: “There is no song on the current album that could hold a candle to the band's old songs like Just a Girl or Underneath It All .” She wrote that the band will not be able to repeat their previous success. Sabrina Franco from Laut.de wrote: “Fans will certainly find a few pearls on this album, but nobody will be blown away anymore. Push and Shove sounds like a solid but average pop record with few highlights. ”It gave 3 stars out of 5. In her review for the magazine " Большой ", Tazzjana Samirowskaja wrote: "She [ Gwen Stefani ] is very dear to our hearts as a memory, and in this case this comeback in this form is particularly important to us."
