Lysmata is a genus of shrimp from the family of the cleaner and marble shrimp (Hippolytidae), which occurs in flat areas of all tropical and subtropical oceans . They live mainly in coral reefs and are often active. a. as cleaner shrimp . This means that they rid fish of parasites and dead skin residues. Especially with large fish such as moray eels and groupers , they even crawl into the open mouth to remove food residues between the teeth.
