Pyhrn is a 1,675.63 hectare cadastral municipality in the north of the city of Liezen in Styria and has 293 inhabitants (2001). In the district there is also one of the three volunteer fire brigades of the city of Liezen (FF Pyhrn / Liezen).

The Pyhrnpass Straße (B138) runs through the Pyhrn district and runs over the Pyhrnpass to Wels in Upper Austria .
history
The earliest written document is from 1146 and is "Pirdine". The name goes back to the Slovenian brdo (mountain, elevation).
The former independent municipality was incorporated into Liezen on April 1, 1942 on the basis of a decree by Sigfried Uiberreither , the Reich governor of the Gaues Styria .
