The Pyraser Landbrauerei is a brewery in the Thalmässing district of Pyras . Since 2000, a large range of non-alcoholic drinks has been added to the range by drilling a mineral water fountain, the Pyras forest spring. In 2017, 190,000 hectoliters of beverages were produced, 40% of which were beer .

history

In 1749 Johann Adam Bernreuther bought the "Zum Angerwirt" estate. In 1865 the forest properties in Franconia, including those of Adam Bernreuther, were badly damaged by the nun butterfly . The damaged wood had to be felled, and the price fell due to the high supply. The Angerwirt's beer supplier did not buy the wood either. Adam Bernreuther is said to have been so angry that he founded his own brewery in 1870. The Bernreuther family had a brewery before. In 1649 Hanns Bernreuther took over a brewery in Offenbau .

Since September 2015, the brewery has been a member of the Die Freie Brauer initiative , an association of medium-sized private breweries, mainly from Germany and Austria.

Products

The brewery currently brews 22 types of beer. Seven beers, the Josephistarckbier, the Weizenbock, Kirchweihbier, Burgfestbier, Hopfenpflücker-Pils, Christmas-Festbier and the dark Doppelbock Ultra are only available seasonally. Other high-priced beer specialties are sold under the Pyraser Herzblut sub-brand .

In addition to beer, mineral water and lemonades are sold under the Pyraser Waldquelle brand .

Others

  • The beers and lemonades are filled in their own bottles with glass embossing and screw caps.
  • The brewery draws its water from its own spring, the forest spring in Pyras.
  • The brewery is a member of the Brauring , a cooperation between private breweries from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
