Pysall Ruge Architects

Pysall Ruge Architects was an international architecture firm based in Berlin with a branch in Hangzhou ( China ). The field of activity included architecture, urban planning as well as interiors and exhibitions.

history

The office was a partnership between the architects Justus Pysall and Peter Ruge and was founded in 1993. The partnership ended in February 2011. Justus Pysall has been running an office called Pysall Architects ever since. Peter Ruge also has his own office in Berlin under the name Peter Ruge Architects.

Architects

Justus Pysall

Justus Pysall studied and graduated in Braunschweig. He first worked at Foster + Partners in London and at the same time taught at the AA Architectural Association . Then, until his return to Germany, he worked in the Atelier Jean Nouvel in Paris. He is a member of the Chamber of Architects , the BDA Berlin, the Schinkel Committee of the AIV , the Förderverein der Bundesstiftung Baukultur and the DGNB - German Sustainable Building Council .

Peter Ruge

Ruge studied at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he received his diploma as an architect in 1988. He then conducted research at Kyoto University and worked in the Ueda Atelier und Genplan office in Kyoto, Japan, until 1992. Since 1993 he has been practicing as a freelance architect in Berlin.

Projects

The architectural office's projects include the Aviation Museum in Krakow, the LTD_1 office building in Hamburg, the master plan for the BBI Business Park at the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport and the planning of the sustainable city “Rose of Mianyang” in China. The office's buildings received the best architects award, the Bogdanowski Award, a nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture , and the Kajima and Asakura Prize in Japan .

Exhibitions took place at the International Architecture Biennale in Venice , the DAM - German Architecture Museum , Frankfurt and the Architecture Biennale of São Paulo , Brazil.
