The Qaskeleng ( Kazakh Қаскелең ) is a tributary of the Qapshaghai reservoir in the Kazakh region of Almaty .

The Qaskeleng rises on the northern slope of the main ridge of the Transili-Alatau . From there it flows in a mountain valley in a northerly direction. At the city of Qaskeleng he reaches the plain north of the mountain range. The rivers Jemegen , Qassymbek and Köpsai flow into the mountains . North of the city of Qaskeleng, the river continues to flow in a northerly direction, later in a north-northeast direction. In doing so, it takes in other rivers, mainly from the right: Schamalghan , Aqsai , Kökösök and Ülken Almaty . Shortly before its mouth on the western south bank of the Qapschaghai reservoir, the Kizhi Almaty meets the river from the right. The Qaskeleng has a length of 177 km. It drains an area of 3620 km². The mean discharge is 15.2 m³ / s.
