Quarb
The Quarb is the narrow valley of the Piesting between Pernitz and Oed .
The valley of the Piesting is besieged here in the north by the Hohen Mandling and in the south by the Großer Kitzberg . The Gutensteiner Strasse , the Gutensteinerbahn and the Biedermeier cycle path run through the Quarb . On the edge of the quarb there are also a few houses known as quarb.
The field name Quarb is traced back to Celtic origins. The word Quarb - derived from the word "gwar" (view, care), suggests a guard who was probably located on the northern slope of the Kitzenberg, opposite the entrance to the Feichtenbachtal. After the discovery of a disc brooch from the 2nd century AD, the connection there from the Pistingtal to the Triestingtal was already known.
