history

As part of Operation Halmazag in November 2010, an outpost was to be set up near the village. Taliban positions in the village, as well as positions in the neighboring village of Isa Khel, were bombed by fighter planes, attacked by 500 soldiers, including the German training and protection battalion Kunduz, and police officers, and finally occupied. Fierce fighting broke out over the next four days as the Taliban tried to retake the town.

The fighting, as well as the promise of a quick asphalting of the main road and a connection to the power grid, were part of the strategy ( FM 3-24 Counterinsurgency ) that had been practiced since 2001 when David Petraeus took command of the war in Afghanistan .
