Quelitz is a district of Unterweißbach in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .
geography
Quelitz is located on the ravine-like Lichtetalstraße , on the right and left up to two hundred meters of wooded and green slopes. The stream runs in the valley and the road leads towards Leibis and Meura . In Unterweißbach the guests and citizens have a connection to the road 1145 towards Sitzendorf or Meuselbach-Schwarzmühle .
history
The settlement was first mentioned in a document on November 19, 1370. The origin of this settlement was a ford over the Lichtebach. At that time, an iron hammer from a hammer mill on the Lichte processed the iron ore mined in the forests. Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
