construction

The four benches offer space for four people.

The chapel is a small, simple building. A retracted choir adjoins the chapel . A small, square roof turret with wooden slats on the sides is attached to the roof of the main room . On it there is a half and above it a sphere with a cross on it. The balls and cross are gold-plated. A bell visible from below hangs in the roof turret. The entrance door on the west side and the windows on the north and south sides imitate Gothic shapes. High above the entrance door is a rectangular color mosaic depicting Mary with the baby Jesus . A colored glass window framed in concrete with white and red glass, the shape of which is a cross, is installed as a tympanum above the rectangular entrance door. The two colored glass windows on the sides show the Holy Trinity on the left: the eye for God the Father, the dove for the Holy Spirit, the red cross for Jesus Christ, the other side shows St. Wendelin, the patron saint of Shepherds and flocks. The round glass window in the chancel is high. All glass windows are works from the 20th century in a modern style, in which the glass is firmly embedded in concrete.

Chancel in the choir

Inside there are two rows of benches to the left and right of the aisle, each with only two seats. The altar area is optically separated by an altar barrier, a wooden frame with metal grids, but freely accessible in the middle. A wooden plaque carved with ornaments reads in the middle of the altar cupboard: “Come to me, all of you who are burdened with burdens and toil. I want to refresh you. ”On the granite altar table is an open text on a frame and next to this frame is a vase with flowers. An iron cross in 19th century shapes is placed behind the altar. On the east wall there are two color mosaics, on the left: Resurrection of Christ, on the right the depiction of “St. Brother Konrad ”. Sacrificial candles can be placed on the altar . On the walls of the chapel there are pictures, the information text about the origin and preservation of the chapel, a memory of the widow of the builder, texts with songs and a * poem by W. Marquart about the Quirinskapelle. The rope with which the bell in the roof turret can be rung is led through a small hole in the flat ceiling into the chapel room and is attached to the wall.

Poem Quirins-Kirchlein

This rhyme can be found in a small picture frame on one of the walls:

THE QUIRINS - CHURCH

Don't go past, hold your step, rest with me for a while. take strength for the soul with you, forget the everyday storms.

I would like to say a lot about those who built me one, I often hear bitter woes, some innocent childish sounds.

Many a young man said goodbye here, had to go to war, many a mothers came to me, weeping for their dead son.

Once upon a time the herds grazed under trees here in the field, a delicious picture, a heavenly picture, I sometimes see it in dreams.

The time does not stand, it hurries by with gigantic steps and at some point your mind also learns to thank and ask.

Once upon a time there was poor, but one trusted in God intimately and when the disease crept into the house, one looked to the cross.

And if you continue hiking, you will storm every mile, even if you are successful, stop once and race for a while.

Visit me over rock and stone, in sun, rain, snow, the open door always invites you to a forest-rushed height. (Walter Marquart)
