Räthgloben 1917 publishing house

The Räthgloben 1917 Verlag is a Leipzig-based manufacturer of globes that was founded in 1917 by Paul Räth (1881–1929).

Two globes from Paul Räth's workshop can now be seen as exhibits in museums. Possibly the first illuminated globe with electric light from 1921 is exhibited in the Globe Museum of the Vienna National Library . A terrestrial globe with a diameter of 64 cm with a hand-modeled surface relief, which was once made for the luxury liners of North German Lloyd , has been part of the collection of the Deutsches Museum in Munich since 1925 . Many globes were designed by the Leipzig high school teacher Arthur Krause .

In 1972 the publishing house was completely nationalized in the GDR and from then on operated as VEB Räthgloben-Verlag. Since 1999, the part Räthgloben 1917 Publisher majority of the Italian Group SpA Tecnodidattica Today both manufactured traditional handicraft globes as well as machine-made globes (be thermoforming technique ) in different map images available.
