Arthur Krause (teacher)

Arthur Julius Krause (born January 29, 1882 in Leipzig ; † October 30, 1972 ibid) was a German high school teacher. He taught mathematics and physics in Leipzig.

Life

Krause attended a Leipzig citizen school and Michaelis entered the sixth class of the municipal high school in 1892 . At Easter 1901 he passed the final examination. He studied mathematics , physics and astronomy at the University of Leipzig . When the rector changed on October 31, 1904, he was awarded the 1st prize of the philosophical faculty on the basis of a treatise in the field of geometric optics. On May 29, 1905 he passed the state examination for the higher teaching post . With a doctoral thesis on collective measurement , he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. One of the two reviewers was Heinrich Bruns . For the probationary year he was assigned to the municipal Nikolaischule in Leipzig by ministerial order of June 15, 1905 . In addition, he was from New Year 1905 to February 28, 1907 as an assistant at the Kgl. University observatory in Leipzig . He dealt with a by Theodor Brorsen named Comet . On April 16, 1906, he was employed as a non-permanent teacher at the Nikolaigymnasium. In 1936 he was teacher at St. Nicholas School. According to the Leipzig address book of 1936, he lived as “Dr. phil., Prof., Studienrat ”in Reitzenhainer Str. 189. In 1943 the address was Wachauer Str. 7 II. The years 1944–1947 are not recorded. In 1948 and 1949 he lived again as a "writer" at 7 Wachauer Str. At the time he was retired. He designed globes for the Räthgloben 1917 publishing house . In 1952 he gave beginners' courses in astronomical observations for the adult education center in Leipzig.
