Noiseling

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rauschling is an old white wine variety that used to be widespread in eastern Switzerland , Germany and Alsace . The (formerly) rather sour Raulling was mentioned as early as 1550 by Hieronymus Bock under the name drutsch . The word Reuschling is mentioned for the first time in the Weingartordnung of Philipp Ernst (Hohenlohe-Langenburg) of 1614. In recent decades, however, it has often been replaced by the more fertile and early ripening Müller-Thurgau .

Cultivation areas that still exist today (only a few hectares) can be found on Lake Zurich , on Cholfirst ( Uhwiesen , Benken and Flurlingen ), in the Winterthur and Eglisau region and in northeastern Switzerland. In 2007 a total of 22 hectares of vineyards were collected. In Germany, the R Noiseling can be found on the Abtsberg in Zell-Weierbach near Offenburg.

However, this variety should not be confused with the one called Knipperlé .
