The Río Rudrón rises in a rock cave northeast of the village of San Mamés de Abar in the northwest of the province of Burgos and then flows in an east and northeast direction until it reaches the upper reaches after a good 42 km in the municipality of Valle de Sedano about 2 km northeast of the place Valdelateja of the Ebro .

Tributaries

The only major tributary is the Río Moradillo . The karst spring Pozo Azul is located about 500 m behind its confluence .

places

There are only smaller villages and hamlets with fewer than 50 inhabitants along the river.

Attractions

Between the villages of Hoyos del Tozo and Moradillo del Castillo , a 17 km long circular hiking trail leads through the gorge ( cañon ) of the Río Rudrón.
