The predecessors were the X-Games held at the same location in 2013 . The fifth event will take place from June 22nd to 24th, 2018.
organization
From June 27th to 30th, 2013 the X-Games took place in the Munich Olympic Park , a type of "Olympic Games for Skateboarders, BMX riders and motocross pilots" organized by the US sports television channel ESPN , which attracted 119,000 visitors. A three-year contract, which provided for further alignments for 2014 and 2015, was terminated by ESPN in October 2013.
As a follow-up event, Olympiapark München GmbH, together with sponsor Red Bull Munich Mash, designed a three-day trend sports festival. A course was set up on the Olympic lake for the Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross competition . 300 employees were busy building the route for several weeks, with 400 pontoons , 400 tons of scaffolding and 2,600 m³ of earth being processed. For the slopestyle or dirt jump competition of mountain bikers , a ramp was built on the east grandstand of the Olympic Stadium , from which a route studded with jumps, waves and banked curves with a total of 6 obstacles led to the finish on Coubertinplatz . For the first time in a competition of this kind, there was a loop in the course. As with the X-Games, a route in the Olympic ice rink was modeled for the BMX riders . The city of Munich paid over one million euros for the event. A total of 52,000 spectators were there, and the event was broadcast live by the television channels ServusTV and ProSieben Fun . The supporting program included u. a. also a music festival with concerts by Susanne Blech and the British alternative rock band Blitz Kids from Crewe and Nantwich, who are under contract with Red Bull Records .
In 2015, the dirt jump competition for mountain bikers was upgraded to one of the six most highly endowed slopestyle competitions of the Freeride Mountain Bike Association worldwide , with a total of 24 professional freestylers at the start. To model the route for the mountain bikers, 170 truck fillings of clay soil were transported from the Dachau hinterland to the Olympic Park. 240 tons of steel were used for the launch tower and the ramps, and 10 km of cable for 15 cameras were laid. This year, the Olympic ice rink was shared by BMX riders on Saturdays for the BMX Street Rink and on Sundays by skateboard professionals for the Skateboard Street Rink . Lt. According to the organizers, 67,000 spectators were on site, and 40,000 spectators were reported on Saturday alone. The supporting program included a lifestyle market with handicrafts , streetwear, etc. As well as on Saturday the performance of the Frankfurt rapper Casper with a DJ in front of 6,000 spectators on the upper tier of the Olympic Stadium. The ARD reported in its digital program EinsPlus about the event.

Swatch Prime Line Munich
In 2014 and 2015, the mountain bike slopestyle competition was part of the freeride mountain bike “FMB World Tour”, an annual series of competitions coordinated by the Freeride Mountain Bike Association in the four categories diamond, gold, silver and bronze. The ranking of the series results from a point system, whereby a victory in a competition in the bronze category means 250 points, silver 500 points, gold 750 points and diamond 1,000 points.
Among the 36 competitions in the 2014 season, the competition held at the Munich Mash under the name Swatch Prime Line Munich was categorized under the gold category, along with five other competitions worldwide ; the prize money was US $ 25,000. In 2015 the Swatch Prime Line Munich was rated in the highest diamond category ; the prize money was € 31,500. While the Canadian Brett Reeder was able to relegate the Belgian Thomas Genon to second place in Munich, Genon then won the overall ranking of the series ahead of Reeder. In 2016, the Swatch Prime Line Munich will again be part of the Diamond Series alongside competitions in Rotorua (New Zealand), Les Gets (France) and the final in Whistler (Canada).
