Crewe and Nantwich was a district with the status of a borough in the county of Cheshire in England . The administrative seat was the city of Crewe , in which a little more than half the population lived. Other important places were Audlem , Haslington , Nantwich , Willaston and Wistaston .

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the Borough of Crewe , the Urban District Nantwich and the Rural District Nantwich. On April 1, 2009 it was dissolved due to a territorial and administrative reform and went into the new Unitary Authority Cheshire East .
