Course of the Río Sardinata |
The Río Sardinata is a right tributary of the Río Catatumbo in Colombia and Venezuela .
The Río Sardinata rises south of Sardinata in the Colombian Eastern Cordillera . It flows in a northerly direction through the Colombian Departamento de Norte de Santander . The river passes the city of the same name, Sardinata. At Tres Bocas it takes up the two left tributaries Río Presidente and Río Tibú and crosses the border into Venezuela. Here the Río Sardinata meanders through the lowlands of the Venezuelan state of Zulia , takes up the Río Socuavo from the left and finally flows into the Río Catatumbo, which flows eastwards.
