Róbert Marshall

Róbert Marshall (born May 31, 1971 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Björt framtíð ).

Róbert Marshall worked as a journalist for various Icelandic newspapers and magazines as well as for the TV station Stöð 2 , headed the news section of 365 miðlar from 2005 to 2006 and was chairman of the Icelandic Journalists' Association from 2003 to 2005. From 2007 to 2009 he was assistant to the then Icelandic Transport Minister Kristján L. Möller .

In the general election in Iceland in 2009 , Róbert Marshall was elected as a member of the Alliance for the Southern Constituency in the Icelandic parliament Althing . On October 12, 2012 Róbert left the alliance and joined the Björt framtíð party, which was founded in 2012 . In the parliamentary elections in Iceland in 2013 he was the top candidate for Björt framtíð in the constituency of Reykjavík-Süd and received one of six seats in this party.

He was a member of the Environment and Communication Committee and the Icelandic delegation to the Nordic Council . From 2009 to 2013 he also headed the Icelandic Group in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly . From 2013 to 2015 he was group leader of Björt framtíð. Róbert Marshall did not run for the general election in Iceland in 2016 .
