Röderau-Bobersen , today part of Zeithain , was an independent Saxon community that existed from January 1, 1994 to July 1, 2002. The municipality was located to the right of the Elbe, immediately east of the district town of Riesa . Zeithain bordered on the east. The community had the three districts of Röderau-Bobersen, Moritz and Promnitz.

history

The municipality of Röderau-Bobersen was formed on January 1, 1994 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Röderau (with Moritz and Promnitz ) and Bobersen from the Riesa district. At the time of the unification, it had 2,566 inhabitants and an area of ​​1,003 hectares . In the course of the first Saxon district reform , the community became part of the Riesa-Großenhain district .

On June 30, 1998 Röderau-Bobersen had 2,724 inhabitants, which marked the highest number of inhabitants in the history of the municipality. In the following years the population stagnated to a large extent and decreased slightly.

The independence of Röderau-Bobersen ended on July 1, 2002 when it was incorporated into Zeithain . The Zeithain-Röderau-Bobersen administrative community joined the two communities on October 23, 1998 . In Zeithain, Röderau-Bobersen is still an officially designated part of the municipality.
