Rüdiger Giebler (born January 2, 1958 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Rüdiger Giebler did an apprenticeship as a land surveyor from 1974 to 1976 . From 1980 to 1986 he studied at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle with Inge Götze and Frank Ruddigkeit . He graduated in 1986 with a diploma as a painter and graphic artist. He has been freelance in Halle since 1986. From 1991 to 1995 he was the director of the municipal " Galerie am Alten Markt " in Halle. In 1997 he received a grant from the HAP Grieshaber Foundation in Reutlingen .

Rüdiger Giebler sees himself as a representative of resistant post- expressionism . He mainly works on large-format oil paintings, alongside drawings and gouache as independent work for painting. Giebler has exhibited in 25 cities, including Dresden (1986), Leipzig (1987 and 1990), Halle (1990, 1994, 1996, 1998), Aschersleben (1999), Frankfurt am Main (1996), Berlin (1997), Erfurt (1999) and in Reutlingen in the municipal art museum Spendhaus (1997). Giebler curates exhibitions and publishes works about artists.
