Rudiger Lamm

Rüdiger Lamm (* approx. 1949) is a former German table tennis player and sports manager .

Life

Lamm played as a member of the Meiderich TTC 1970/71 in the table tennis Bundesliga . In 1971 he moved to the district class club TV Friesen Milse, and in 1972 to VfL Osnabrück . In the 1980s he took over the management of the Steinhagen sports association and led its table tennis department into the Bundesliga and the European Cup .

In 1994 he left the club and moved as a full-time manager to the then top division soccer club Arminia Bielefeld , taking many of the major sponsors of the Steinhagen sports association with him. With his help, a pool of sponsors was set up that already comprised 100 companies within one year. Within three years, the club managed to return to the Bundesliga thanks to the signing of players such as Thomas von Heesen , Armin Eck and Fritz Walter . In 1996, the Focus called Lamm the millionaire and “spiritual father” of the company “Arminia 2000” . After relegation in 1998, Lamm resigned from his post. He later worked for the Kickers Offenbach and SV Waldhof Mannheim clubs . A contract with 1. FC Magdeburg was signed, but the position as sports manager was not taken up.
