Ra'is (born June 22, 1995 ; bourgeois Omar Omeirat , Arabic : عمر عميرات) is a German rapper and singer with Lebanese roots. He is currently under contract with the label Alles oder Nix Records .

Life

Omar is of Mardelli- Lebanese descent, his parents are from Beirut . He grew up in Selm, North Rhine-Westphalia , and attended the Erich Kästner secondary school there. After graduating in 2013, he began training as a chef , which he broke off after a year. He moved to Goslar , where he still lives today. In May 2014, Omar was arrested. At the time he was 18 years old. He later served the sentence and was released from prison in 2018.

From June 2018 he regularly published acapella videos on Instagram under his stage name Ra'is . In this way he built up a large fan base. In 2019 he reached the mark of over 100,000 followers on Instagram.

In October 2018, Xatar signed him on his label Alles oder Nix Records . The first single, Fly to the Moon , appeared with a video and entered the German Spotify weekly charts at number 114. His second video single, Wieso with Noah , was 83 in the German Spotify weekly charts. He is also still on the published in December single reality of Marashi and on a track on Nimos album Nimooriginal represented as a feature guest.

At the beginning of April 2020, Ra'is released the video single Sem7ini Mama . A version of the song that was not yet final was leaked in May 2019. In the song he reckons u. a. with his past, which ended up imprisoning him and which he is ashamed of nowadays. He also apologizes in the song to his mother, who actually raised him well and warned him against it. But he didn't listen to her.

With the single Sehe schwarz (feat. Xatar) he first hit the German single charts. His debut album HAYAT was released in June 2020.
