history

  • Rebel Yell originally ran parallel to Lake Charles , a large man-made lake in the northwest area of ​​Kings Dominion. In the early 1990s two-thirds of the lake was drained to make way for a new water park to be built .
  • Between 1993 and 2007, trains reversed on one side of Rebel Yell. However, these were turned forward again, as there were complaints from visitors who complained about back problems.
  • It was named after the battle cry Rebel yell , which was used by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War .
