Flight of Fear is the name of two dark coasters in the US amusement parks Kings Island ( Mason , Ohio ) and Kings Dominion ( Doswell , Virginia ). Both opened in 1996 as Outer Limits: Flight of Fear and were themed after the television series Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension . When the licenses expired, they were renamed Flight of Fear in 2001 and re-themed accordingly.

Railway station in Kings Island

The trains on the two railways are accelerated from the station to 87 km / h by linear motors . Four inversions were installed on the 825 m long route, which reaches a height of 23 m : a Cobra-Roll , a Sidewinder and a corkscrew .

Trains

The trains of the two railways were originally equipped with shoulder bars. For the 2001 season these were replaced by lap bars. Today three trains operate at the facility in Kings Dominion and four trains with five cars each in Kings Island. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. The passengers must be at least 1.37 m tall to be allowed to ride.
