Intimidator 305 in Kings Dominion ( Doswell , Virginia , USA ) is a steel roller coaster model Giga Coaster manufactured by Intamin , which opened on April 2, 2010.
With a height of 93 m and a top speed of 151 km / h, it is the highest and fastest roller coaster in the park. It is also the third no- kill roller coaster in the world after Millennium Force and Steel Dragon 2000 to exceed 300 feet (91 m). It is traded as the seventh highest roller coaster in the world and is also the fifth highest of the roller coasters in the world with classic lift hills .
After the lift opened in May 2010, reducing brakes were installed on the first departure , which are intended to reduce the maximum speed of the trains at the end of the departure, as some passengers suffered blackouts . In contrast, the reduction brakes, which are located on the rest of the route, have been removed. During the winter break in 2011, the 270 ° curve was raised after the drop in order to reduce the positive acceleration. The reducing brakes on the first descent were completely removed.
The layout is close to the ground and is equipped with five airtime hills, three high-speed curves and offers quick changes of direction.
Intimidator 305 has two trains with eight cars each. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps with soft soft straps are used as a restraint system.
