Anaconda in Kings Dominion ( Doswell , Virginia , USA ) is a steel roller coaster from the Model Custom Looping Coaster manufacturer's Arrow Dynamics , which opened on March 23, 1991st It was designed by Ron Toomer; was one of many Arrow Looping roller coasters built in the 1990s and was Kings Dominion's first roller coaster with more than one inversion . It was also the first roller coaster with a tunnel under water.

history

After the King Kobra roller coaster and Lion Country Safari roller coaster were removed, Lake Charles and what is now the Congo area of ​​the park freed up large amounts of space, and Shockwave became the park's only roller coaster with inversions. Construction work for Anaconda began in late 1990. The lift hill section was built on the previous side of King Kobra, a flywheel accelerated shuttle coaster . Anaconda opened on March 2, 1990. In 1993, half of Lake Charles was filled to make way for the Hurricane Reef water park , now known as WaterWorks . In the spring of 2006, the Backlot Stunt Coaster opened near Anaconda .

Trains

Anaconda has two trains with seven cars each. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system. The passengers must be at least 1.22 m tall to be allowed to ride.
