Gameplay

Wheel is a rogue-like video game that is played from an isometric perspective. In the game, the player controls a character whose goal is to explore a procedurally generated wasteland. As the character explores the wasteland, his genes mutate and give the character additional powers. For each character, the player can set unlimited passive bonuses and a maximum of three active mutations. When the character dies, a new character will replace him.

development

In each game round, skills are gained at random. According to developer Lee Petty, this creates different combinations that allow players to better explore the strengths and weaknesses of each mutation.

The game was officially announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment in March 2019. It was released on August 20, 2019 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

reception
