The 2nd Rad am Ring 2017 was a German road bike race on the Nürburgring / Rhineland-Palatinate .
The one-day race Rad am Ring , nicknamed the Rudi Altig Race, took place on Sunday, July 30th, 2017. There were five laps each on the Nordschleife and five laps each on the Grand Prix track . In addition, the bike race was part of the UCI Europe Tour 2017 and was classified in category 1.1 .
The winner of the race was Huub Duyn (Verandas Willems) from the Netherlands out of a four-man leading group that formed 25 kilometers from the finish on the Hohe Acht, ahead of his teammate Wout Van Aert . Previously, all further breakaway attempts, u. a. by Gian Friesecke (Switzerland / Vorarlberg) and Christopher Hatz (Germany / Lotto Kern-Haus), without success.
