Radio Good Morning Germany is a multicultural urban Internet radio project from Germany , which in the languages of Arabic , Farsi , German and English sends. It went on air for the first time on May 1, 2016. The radio is currently broadcasting from studios in Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart .

The radio produces various radio formats with music programs, including live music and talk shows with guests from culture and politics.

Together with Frankfurt's cultural and educational institutions, Radio Good Morning Deutschland moderates events such as the opening of McDonald's Radio University by Japanese conceptual artist Akira Takayama at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm or the first Anne Frank Day in Frankfurt and the Anne Frank educational facility on June 12, 2017.

history

Radio Good Morning Germany was created as an artistic project by and for refugees by the composer Hannes Seidl in cooperation with the Donaueschinger Musiktage , the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main, the Office for Multicultural Cooperation of the City of Frankfurt, the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and further cooperation partners initiated. According to Seidl, the name “Good Morning Germany” refers to the film “ Good Morning, Vietnam ”, since radio is also used as a medium in this film to create a sense of community despite difficulties and contradictions.

Good Morning Germany broadcast from three local studios in Donaueschingen , Stuttgart and Frankfurt am Main three times a week from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in a live stream from May to October 2016 , as well as 24/7 with music and repeats of the programs. The project was financed and supervised until the end of October.

The radio project has been sponsored by the non-profit association Offenes Haus der Kulturen e. V. in the student house of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main .
