The Kavaliershaus is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 00629 .

history

The Kavaliershaus at Marienstraße 2 in Weißenfels was built in 1720 by Johann Christoph Schütze . A city fire earlier in 1715 had also destroyed the town hall , St. Marien Church and Marienstraße. After its reconstruction, the building was built for the government secretary Andreas Benjamin Praetorius. Busts and head reliefs decorate its facade. Oval windows and a two-story bay window , a gable and a mansard roof are also part of the building.

The building was renovated from 2012 to 2013 and has since been used by the city administration as part of the technical town hall.
