The town hall of Weißenfels is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is registered as a monument under registration number 094 11358 .

The building at Markt 1 in Weißenfels is the town hall of the city and is the second new construction of the building. During a town fire in 1663, the original town hall burned down to the ground . The building was rebuilt, which was damaged again in another city fire in 1715. This time it only hit the upper floors . The second reconstruction in the baroque style was completed in 1718, the remaining parts of the previous building were included in the new building. After completion, the building served again as the administrative seat of the city of Weißenfels. The builder for the second reconstruction was Christoph Schütze. Due to static problems that were identified in 2012, the building is not used by the administration. The city of Weißenfels received two million euros from the federal government and the state for the renovation of the building through the Stark V investment support program. 90% of the funding comes from the federal government and the remaining 10% from the state of Saxony-Anhalt. After the renovation of the building, the city administration plans to use it again.

There are three clocks on the town hall tower, two hour clocks and a moon phase clock. A small balcony is located above the main entrance of the building with two sculptures of sandstone . These sculptures are Justitia and Minerva . Directly above the city coat of arms is held by two Wettin lions. There are various baroque decorative elements on the building. The three-storey roof structure was used by a theater group as a rehearsal room.

The builder Christoph Schütz rebuilt it in 1718/22 in the Baroque style. The remaining parts of the previous building were included in the new building. The two sandstone sculptures Justitia and Minerva are on the balcony. In the upper part of the tower, a two-tone ball acts as a moon clock and shows the phases of the moon.
