Radka Donnell , born as Radka Zagoroff , (born November 24, 1928 in Sofia , Bulgaria ; † February 13, 2013 ) was a German-speaking poet , also a narrator and publicist .

Life

Radka Donnell was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1928. She spent the war years in Germany and emigrated to the USA in 1951 . After graduating from Stanford University in 1954, Donnell became a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Colorado at Boulder .

She earned a special reputation as a patchwork and quilt artist.

Radka Donnell wrote poems in German and English.

She was married to the Swiss architecture critic Adolf Max Vogt , who died a month before her. She was the mother of two daughters and lived in Zurich .
