Radomir Damnjanović , also known as Radomir Damnjanović Damnjan (born December 10, 1936 in Mostar , Yugoslavia ) is a Yugoslav painter and body art artist. He lives and works in Belgrade and Milan

life and work

Radomir Damnjanović finished his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1957 . In 1958 he had his first solo exhibition in Belgrade, and in 1961 another important one in Studio G in Zagreb . From 1959 to 1965 he painted fantastic landscapes and cityscapes, in 1970 he began to paint in the style of minimalism . He also makes use of conceptual art with photography and multimedia techniques such as film and video . Since 1973 he has appeared as a performance and body art artist.

In 1974 Dmnjanović moved to Milan, where he has lived ever since.

In the 1960s, his art received international attention. In 1963 he took part in the São Paulo Biennale , in 1964 he was invited to take part in documenta III in Kassel , and in 1966 he was represented at the Venice Biennale . In 1967 an important solo exhibition took place in the Galerie Fences 8 , Zurich . In 1986 the first major retrospective of his work was shown in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. Numerous exhibitions and performances worldwide followed. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections.
