Radosław Gajek (born April 26, 1998 in Grudziądz , Poland ) is a chess player and coach. He has held the title of International Master since 2014 . Born in Poland, he has lived in the Vienna area since 2016 and switched to the Austrian Chess Federation in 2018 . He has been an Austrian citizen since 2018.
Career
Radosław Gajek played his first tournament at the age of eight . He achieved his first successes in children's and youth tournaments, among other things he worked with the grandmaster and chess trainer Andrij Maksymenko . His first standard for obtaining the title of International Master (IM) was achieved in 2013 at the open tournament in Cappelle-la-Grande . In the same year he also became a FIDE master . He achieved two other IM standards in 2014 in a round- robin tournament in Nakło nad Notecią and in an open tournament in Dresden . In October 2015 he became International Master. He also holds the title of FIDE Instructor .
In August 2018 he achieved his first grandmaster norm at the FIDE Open in Dresden.
In September 2018, he was eighth in the Austrian Elo ranking with his Elo rating of 2463.
